Tennis Ball Review: Diadem Premier XD Interesting tennis ball! Didn’t love it or hate it. The bounce test came in at 25.5 inches (~65cm) before and after. For the weight test, the balls were inconsistent ranging from 57g - 59g. These balls reminded me of a slightly better version of the Wilson Championship ball. Everyone had mix feelings about them… people said they were okay but always requested playing with other balls after 15 minutes on court with them. They play slightly inconsistent, possibly due to the weight differences (I tested 5 different cans and all the balls were 1-2 grams off). As a result, this review took much longer than I expected! I never played with them longer than an hour in the past 1.5 months. After cutting it open, the quality of the rubber was excellent; similar to last years US Open balls and the current Dunlop premium balls. The glue job was also excellent.
