Tennis Ball Review: Dunlop Australian Open ball
This ball is good, but not amazing. The bounce test came in at 24 inches (~66cm) before and after playing for 2.5 hours. The consistency is impressive and each ball weighed exactly 58g.
These balls reminded me on the Dunlop Tour balls, but with a lower bounce. I have mix feelings about them… they’re good at everything … but I like the feel of the Dunlop Tour balls more. However, these balls last longer. I definitely wouldn’t want to use these in a real match as the bounce is extremely low. Not sure how to explain it, but I didn’t like the feel of these balls as much as the Tour balls.
After cutting it open, the quality of the rubber was excellent; even with the signature Dunlop blue glue. Becoming a trend with their balls now.
Concluding remarks: these balls are a jack of all trades, but a master of none. It’s a good ball. The price is bad tho. They come in at $130 for a case and that’s too expensive considering there’s better balls...
