Deep in the mountains of Japan sits Nagoro, a village with fewer than 30 residents and over 300 life sized dolls. As younger generations moved to bigger cities and the population disappeared, local artist Tsukimi Ayano began creating dolls to represent former neighbors, friends, and family members who had either moved away or passed on. Now, every bus stop, classroom, and quiet street is filled with these human sized figures, making the village feel both fascinating and surreal. It is easily one of the strangest places we have ever visited. How would you feel in a place like this? #nagaro #japan #dollvillage #yestheory
