Two men were arrested Friday in connection with a burglary at a Phoenix storage facility that targeted a former MLB player, one day after Phoenix police released surveillance images and asked the public for help identifying them. Police say the burglary happened the afternoon of Sept. 27 at a storage facility near 24th Street and Campbell Avenue. The suspects allegedly broke into the unit and took high-end purses, MLB player-issued gear, collector’s shoes and several laptops, valued at about $93,000. Detectives identified Daniel Jacob Thompson, 48, and Michael Charles Hummel, 30, after learning the men had tried to sell a pair of the stolen shoes. A search warrant recovered footwear, clothing with the victim’s name and electronics, police said. Phoenix police credited the quick turnaround to community and local business partners who shared information with detectives. Charges have not been released. Both men are accused, not convicted. #Arizona #Phoenix #PhoenixPolice #ArizonaNews ...
