A missing 15-year-old girl was found safe in California. The man accused of trafficking her fled… but license plate readers helped police catch him nearly 400 miles away in Arizona. Peoria police say the teen identified 32-year-old Donte Lofton Jr. as the man trafficking her. Investigators believed she was going to be taken to Florida. After Lofton fled an attempted traffic stop in Indio, detectives entered his rental vehicle into a license plate reader system. Within hours, Arizona DPS tracked it to Heber and arrested him. Police say another trafficking victim was found inside his car. Both victims were safely recovered.
