I’ve wanted to meet this guy for over 11 years. This week I finally got the chance to spend time with Trent from bornandraisedoutdoors and he is as good as they come. Over the course of this bear hunt I watched some of the most selfless behavior from an individual that I’ve seen in a long time. His reputation as a humble, hardworking, positive outdoorsman and family man absolutely proved true. I literally witnessed him dive into a raging river and swim to the other side to save two hounds. At night around the fire he sharpened knives for the crew. He made sure everyone got up and down the mountain through the steep and rugged terrain. Even though we both had tags in our pockets, he left his rifle in the truck because he said he just wanted to witness me harvest my first bear. And when we finally got to the tree, he literally had my back, allowing me to lean against him as I took an almost vertical shot up into the tree. Grateful for a new friendship and brotherhood.
