Last night we had the opportunity to attend the premiere of Ben Kjar’s film STANDOUT, and I am still processing the impact it had on my heart. Ben’s story is powerful, but even more than that, it is sacred. Watching his life unfold on screen was a reminder that God places people in our path to stir the waters of our faith. Just like the pool of Bethesda, there are moments when the waters are moved and a choice is placed before us. Do we stay on the edge, or do we step in? Miracles often follow when we choose to jump in, even when the outcome feels uncertain. This film is not about limitations. It is about purpose. It is about choosing courage. It is about standing up when the world tells you to sit down, and trusting that God truly has a work for us to do. In the coming weeks, STANDOUT will be showing in theaters. Go see it. Take your kids. Take some tissues. Be ready to feel something deep. Be ready to walk out wanting to run through a brick wall and conquer more in your own life....
