Today Kenzie spoke to our church congregation as she prepares to depart to Brazil. She shared the most beautiful witness and testimony of Jesus Christ, along with some sacred experiences that led her to desire to serve. What touched me most was her simple and powerful reason for going. She shared: “Recently as I have been thinking about why I want to serve a mission, and how I can share and express that to you, I am at a loss for words. No elaborate story, no grand experience. Just one word, one name, and one thought comes to my mind, and that is Jesus Christ. He truly is the only reason I am willing and wanting to leave my family, friends, and other opportunities. It is the message that Jesus Christ was born, lived, and was lifted upon the cross, and rose the third day, and because of Him we can all be saved. It is all because of Him.” As her father, there is nothing more humbling or that brings me more joy than hearing your child declare the name of Christ so purely and so boldly....
