The Poor Have The Gospel Preached To Them = A Miracle. This is part of a message I sent to my daughter Hallie, who’s serving her mission in Brazil. I also send it to Kenzie, who is preparing for hers, and to Beckham and Savvy, who I know will one day join this great work. In Matthew 11, Jesus is asked: “Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?” His answer? Miracles. “The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised…” Can you imagine seeing that? The blind…seeing. The lame…walking. Even the dead…rising. But then comes the final miracle: “…and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” That one gets me every time. Because the gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest miracle of all. It opens the door to every other miracle. It changes hearts. Heals families. Brings hope. And leads us home to Him.
