Hunting Day 9: Today was the day for Hallies gemsbok/oryx. We did some long range shooting practice in the morning. Had everything dialed in just right and Hallie feeling comfortable at long distances. These animals are hard to hunt. Both male and female have horns and the females are a bit longer, but skinnier. The best way to judge them is when they are together so you can compare. After searching fir a few hours we found a group feeding at about 1100 yards. They worked their way over the ridge and we went in pursuit of narrowing the gap but knowing a long range shot might be necessary. We setup at 840 yards. Hallie kept her cool and settled in. It took maybe 30-40 minutes to have the right shot and her patience and practice paid off. 1 shot at 840 yards perfectly placed by Hallie. This is not an easy shot to make. But we all had confidence in Hallie’s ability and are very proud of her. #howiconquer #conquermore #mtnops #timeandattention #ilovehallie2021 huntinafricawithtollies m...
