#ConquerMore moment: I took Beck and his buddy Tay skiing today and we had a blast. On our first run down the mountain there was a noticeable improvement from Beckham’s skiing just 3 weeks ago. He rode with more confidence, speed and even style. I had a huge smile on my face down the entire MTN. What struck me, was that about 3 weeks ago I cut the chords, so to say, and let Beck start skiing alone with friends and siblings. I’m a paranoid father always expecting the worst and it may at times hold my kids back from progressing or even falling or getting hurt, which in turn keeps them from having to learn to rise again, a process that is so valuable. Beckham needed me to get out if his way, in a way, to really free himself to conquer more. As a parent, i need to know that my efforts to teach them will help them and will be an assuring voice in their head when they fall, but i also need to learn to let them soar!!!
