Being a dad is a sacred experience for me! This morning I was excited to read in my scriptures as I started the day. As I was walking down the hall of our home Savvy went skipping by and the thought came to me “she can’t read the scriptures yet, but I can teach her to find the names of God in the pages.” So I had Savvy get her own scriptures out and we got her a red marking pencil. I then wrote the names Jesus, Lord and God on a sticky note for her to reference to know what words she was looking for in the pages. She absolutely loved it and she couldn’t stop! She made us all laugh as she kept saying “I found the Lord again!” I took her to church and for over an hour in sacrament meeting she didn’t put her scriptures down, she just kept marking everywhere she could find His name. She asked me “should I do this every day?” YESS!!! As her father I pray she will.
