Early evening on the last day of the hunt with 3 tags still to fill we came around a corner to find a group of young bulls. My first attempt and desire was to help Hallie or Kenzie fill their tags. I tried my best to help them connect but the direction the caribou ran and the position of the boat didn’t allow them a shot opportunity. I had one chance before these caribou disappeared into the forest and I took the shot....I can’t wait to share the footage from this shot as it was one of those moments where preparation had met opportunity and I was grateful for the practice and preparation I had put in for this hunt. It may not be the biggest bull, but the meat will be a blessing for our family. I was saddened that Hallie and Kenzie were not able to fill their tags but they reassured me over and over of how excited and proud they were of their parents.
