A major threshold just broke in the global auto market. Gasoline only vehicles now represent 49% of new car sales worldwide, down from 73% in 2021. But the bigger signal is not simply that EVs are winning. Roughly 83% of new vehicles still contain an engine, with hybrids absorbing a major share of the transition. The world is moving away from pure gasoline faster than it is moving toward pure electric. Hybrids are becoming the bridge, and that could reshape automaker strategy, battery demand and global energy consumption faster than many expect. #EV #ElectricVehicles #EnergyTransition #Autos #MacroSift
