Huawei is forecasting a world with 900 billion active AI agents by 2035, roughly 100 times the projected human population, and says those agents could generate more than 90% of global AI token traffic. The number is almost absurdly large, but the more important signal is what that kind of machine activity would require: enormous amounts of compute, power, networking, security and coordination infrastructure. The AI race is moving beyond who builds the best model. If billions of autonomous agents are continuously researching, deciding, calling tools and interacting with the physical world, then the strategic advantage shifts toward whoever owns the infrastructure underneath them.
