Florida’s perfect start has officially disappeared after another rough SEC afternoon.
The No. 16 Gators fell 38–19 to South Carolina in The Swamp, dropping to 4–2 after opening the season 4–0. Florida actually struck first with a 59-yard touchdown from Aaron Philo to Bailey Stockton, but the Gamecocks answered quickly and carried a 17–10 lead into halftime.
South Carolina completely took control after the break. LaNorris Sellers finished with 279 passing yards, four touchdown passes and another score on the ground, leading the Gamecocks to 21 second-half points. Florida finished with 387 total yards, but three turnovers helped kill any chance of a comeback.
Philo went 21-of-28 for 227 yards and a touchdown, while Stockton led Florida with 127 receiving yards. Jadan Baugh was held to 59 rushing yards, marking the second straight week he finished below 60 after averaging around 150 yards through Florida’s first four games.
