Had a chance to check out the first golf course wildspringdunes ahead of the grand opening this coming September and was blown away by what I found - I walked off this new doakgolf layout the most excited I’ve ever been about any golf course in Texas. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the place felt like and the best I could come up with was a mix of Sand Valley, the Melbourne Sand Belt, Pinehurst No. 10, and some of what you see at Tree Farm/Old Barnwell. If you’re unfamiliar, WSD sits in East Texas and features some great sandy soil and land framed by pines. There’s two more courses coming as well - another full 18 from coorecrenshaw and a short course, both of which are staked out and have work underway. This is another amazing property from the team behind Bandon & Sand Valley that you won’t want to miss - already looking forward to getting back out for some more loops!
