Four questions go to the fishery before my deposit does. How deep does it go, and where, because a lake with eight feet everywhere fishes nothing like one with a twenty foot channel down it. How many swims against how many rods, because having the run of a place is a completely different week to sharing it. What's growing down the banks, because heavy cover on one side is usually the side they use. And what came out in the month I'm actually going, not the lake record, which is marketing. The photos will show a lodge, a hot tub and a mirror on a mat, and none of that answers any of the four. Any fishery worth booking will answer them straight, and the ones that dodge it have told you something as well.
