Betsy Bull ‘14 says she met Cody Tirpak ‘14 in tax law class when he asked her to explain Section 1231 hotchpot. Cody claims the two knew each other socially before their encounter in class. Either way, the Carolina alums didn’t become close until moving 4,376 miles away from home to clerk in Anchorage, Alaska. They only planned to live in Anchorage for a year, but nine years later, the couple is now married and still resides in the “Last Frontier.” Currently, Betsy is an assistant attorney general in the Alaska Attorney General’s Office’s Child Protection Section and Cody is an assistant district attorney in the Anchorage District Attorney’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit.
