60 Minutes has covered a lot of stories about flaws in our criminal justice system over the years. But we’d never heard a case like that of Curtis Flowers, who spent 22 years wrongfully imprisoned and died at 56. Flowers, a Black man from Mississippi, was tried six times for the same crime by the same prosecutor before ultimately being wrongfully convicted, 60 Minutes reported in 2021. When 60 Minutes spoke with Flowers at 50, he was still adjusting to walking freely. Years in shackles had taught him to take tiny steps. #wrongfullyconvicted #curtisflowers
