Roxane Durant, co-founder and executive director of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), says the organization has increasingly made broader horsemanship education part of the experience. Riders can learn everything from horse care, first aid, wrapping, and equipment to course setting and the behind-the-scenes work required to run a horse show. When IEA teams host or co-host competitions, students also get to see just how many people and moving pieces it takes to make show day happen. Those experiences build practical skills, teamwork, and a greater appreciation for everyone who keeps our industry running. #theplaidhorse #theplaidcast #IEA #interscholasticequestrian #horsemanship #equestrianeducation #youthriders #youngriders #horsecare #horseknowledge #horseshowing #horseshowlife #hunterjumper #equitation #equestrian #equestrianlife #horseandrider #horsepeople #equestriancommunity #ourindustry
