Before Anika was my daughter, she was our prayer. ❤️ One October, my husband and I prayed to Ma Durga. In November, we found out we were expecting. The baby we would eventually welcome was our little girl. To us, it felt like Ma from Kali Bari had answered by coming into our lives as our daughter. We chose Anika, a name I found in the Durga Sahasranam. So these nine days have always held something deeply personal for me. Since she was little, I’ve told her stories of Devi. Now, as she gets closer to her teenage years, I want those stories to become things she can carry into everyday life. The courage to stand up. The confidence to say no.
