You guys know by now, I’ve always been pretty strongly against AI slop. I don’t want AI making the creative decisions for me, churning out generic designs, or replacing the bit of my job that I actually love. But I’ve always been really curious about how AI could help me get my time back.
@figma kindly invited me along to their Figma Commons event in Amsterdam, held in an actual beautiful canal house, I went in with a LOT of questions.
I basically grilled them on one thing:
How does this actually work in real life?
Because after eight years of freelancing, I’ve realised there’s a LOT of my job that isn’t actually designing. Setting things up. Checking things. Resizing things. Making versions. Organising files. Going through screens. Making sure everything is consistent.
All the boring stuff that slowly eats into the time I could be spending on the creative side of my job. And that’s why I’m actually pretty interested in Figma’s new Agents.
