It’s hard to put into words the level of gratitude I feel for my dad, the surgeons, doctors, researchers, and transplant teams who dedicate their lives to saving others, and for this incredible life I’ve been given a second chance to live. ❤️ For the second year in a row, I had the opportunity to share my story at ucsdreimagine, an incredible event hosted by the UC San Diego Surgeons that brings the transplant community together to learn, connect, and advance what’s possible. But this year was extra special because, for the first time, my dad and I got to share our story on stage together! 25 years ago, he gave me a kidney, and I can’t begin to describe all the life that gift has allowed me to live. Being surrounded by donor families, recipients, and the extraordinary medical teams who make it all possible was such a powerful reminder of what organ donation really means. Organ donation doesn’t just save lives. It gives people the chance to truly LIVE them. ❤️ I couldn’t be proude...
