Context because y’all know I love receipts 😂: A couple years ago this fashion show company reached out to me asking me to showcase with them. So naturally I asked if I would be charged to participate, because if you’re soliciting me, I’m assuming you see some type of value in having my brand in your show. Once I realized they wanted me to pay, I told them that I had just done two LAFW shows where I wasn’t charged anything, so I didn’t understand why I should pay for a show that reached out to me first. Then somehow the conversation turned into them criticizing the shows I had already done and trying to convince me that their show could help me make money. 😭 They told me some of their designers make $20K before the show even starts and said one designer made almost $40K in one weekend.
