On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize and honor Indigenous communities while also bringing attention to health disparities that deserve greater awareness and action. 💜 American Indian and Alaska Native people have the highest reported prevalence of migraine or severe headache disorders in the U.S., yet gaps in access to care, representation in research, and culturally responsive healthcare remain. There is also still so much we don’t know. Reliable prevalence data for many U.S. Indigenous populations simply aren’t available, another reminder of why representation in migraine research matters. Today, we’re listening, learning, and advocating for a future where everyone living with migraine and headache disorders has access to the care and support they deserve. To our Indigenous community: What do you wish others understood about your experience living with migraine? #IndigenousPeoplesDay #MigraineAwareness #MigraineAdvocacy #HealthEquity #MilesForMigraine
