Memphis Mayor Paul Young has issued an executive order calling for a 90-day study on how the city should regulate hyperscale data centers. The study will look at land use, neighborhood protections, air quality, and energy and utility costs. It will also include at least three community education sessions where residents can hear the findings and share feedback. Young says the study does not interfere with the City Council’s ongoing discussions about data center legislation.
