New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is calling for ICE to be abolished after federal immigration agents shot and wounded a man in the city's Marble Hill neighborhood on Thursday, October 8, with a 5-year-old child reportedly inside the car. Mamdani said the child was physically unharmed and that his attempt to negotiate the man's release with the Trump administration was unsuccessful. The incident comes amid wider criticism of the administration's immigration crackdown, which has been linked to a series of shootings involving federal immigration agents across the US. #mamdani #nyc #newyork #usa #news
