India is moving to bring down the cost of some cancer medicines by capping trade margins at 30%, targeting mark-ups that can push prices sharply higher. The government says patients could save around 25 billion rupees (about $259 million) a year under the measure. Some non-scheduled cancer drugs have reportedly carried average mark-ups of around 170%, with some reaching 700% or more along the supply chain. An expert committee will determine which medicines are covered before the country's drug pricing authority finalizes the rules. #cancer#medicine#india#news#health
