Did you know that in Lahaina, Maui you can climb into a tree house and taste award winning chocolate above the bio dynamically grown cocoa trees? This might be the sweetest date we went on this year. We joined our guide Ty for an unforgettable farm tour. We got up close to the cocoa trees (they grow over 100 varieties), learned about the whole growing and harvesting process, and got to taste lots of unique chocolates. Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate is doing something special. They are following old Hawaiian traditions and respecting the land and the people of Maui. They are a non profit company, donating 100% of their net profits to Maui charities and non-profit organizations. They are also environmentally sustainable and achieved a net zero carbon footprint.
