At least 109 people, including 15 children, have died and more than 116 are missing after a boat carrying around 350 people capsized off Djibouti, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Sunday.
The boat was travelling from Djibouti to Yemen when it capsized near Guhere, north of the port town of Obock, during the night of October 8–9, according to survivor accounts cited by the IOM.
More than 80 people survived. All the survivors were Ethiopian nationals, the organization said.
A spokesperson for the Ethiopian government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
