As much as people loveeee to use animal agriculture and it’s products as a scapegoat to climate change, science says that’s not true 🌍 #JuneDairyMonth 🐄 Animal ag actually accounts for less than 4% of GHG emissions in the United States 🌾 Grazing animals can actually help with carbon sequestration 💦 94% of water allocated to beef production is from natural rainfall 🥩 If everyone gave up animal products, GHG emissions would only decrease by 2.6% 🥛 Producing a gallon of milk in 2017 used 30% less water, 21% less land and emitted 19% less GHG than it did in 2007 🌽 Majority of land used for grazing animals is not suitable for growing crops 🚘 At the beginning of the pandemic, GHG emissions went down… while the amount of cattle stayed the exact same Meat and dairy are INCREDIBLY nutritious, accessible and affordable options for people.
