This November, The Stories We Carry, an immersive public art installation by Nigerian-born, Arkansas-based interdisciplinary artist Oluwatobi Adewumi, will arrive #OnLincoln! 🧳 Inspired by Adewumi’s own experience of migration and conversations with people whose lives have been shaped by movement across countries, cities and generations, the installation explores migration, memory, identity, resilience and the experiences we carry with us. The approximately 60-foot-long installation will create a pathway of sculptural suitcases and suspended travel tags, featuring portraits, handwritten words, archival fragments and travel marks. By transforming the familiar suitcase into an immersive experience, the installation encourages visitors to walk through, reflect on their own journeys and connect with the experiences of others. 🤎
