I told my coach I was going to smile as much as possible while doing something that felt kinda scary (running a steeple again after breaking my foot last time I did one). And I sure did smile a lot! 😄 Result: Won my race in 9:32.48 Reasons I’m happy: -Kevin surprised me and changed his flight from France to be there last minute -I got to hang out with my godson -There was a genuine feeling of camaraderie among the steeple chicks in my race (this means a lot to me) -I got the standard for USAs -My foot and whole body is totally FINE afterwards. Bodily safety is so important! -I’m having FUN on the track doing this crazy job that I love -I got to meet some fans IRL and they were all so nice 😊 I’m so glad I decided last minute to hop in the Portland Track Fest!
