An important
#WomaninHistory to know is Jane Addams, founder of "Hull House."
"Hull House" was the first settlement house built in the U.S., providing social, educational, and artistic programs to migrant and impoverished communities in Chicago in the early 1900s. "Hull House" was the standard bearer for the mental health movement and practiced community involvement, scientific study of the causes of poverty, communication to the public, and persistent pressure to reform. All of these are standards we hold for mental health policy-making.
