Four timepieces. Three decades. One unifying complication: the Patek Philippe automatic perpetual calendar.
Coming soon to
#SothebysGeneva, these four references trace the evolution of one of the Swiss maison’s defining complications.
Leading the group is the Ref. 3448G, with only approximately 80 white-gold examples believed to have been produced. The Ref. 3450, circa 1984, marks the final evolution of the 3448, introducing a leap-year indication while retaining its iconic ‘Padellone’ form.
In 1985, the Ref. 3940 reimagined the perpetual calendar with a 36mm case and ultra-thin calibre 240 Q. Rounding out the group is the Ref. 3945/1, circa 1994, bringing the complication into a more contemporary form with its distinctive lugless case and integrated bracelet.
Swipe through for a closer look, starting with the Ref. 3448G, circa 1972, and estimated between 400,000 - 800,000 CHF.
