Installing Spider Zone each October is a meticulous process led by Butterfly Pavilion’s team of experts! From hanging curtains and temporarily relocating butterflies to introducing spiders to their new home, our staff also must keep Larrys needs in mind throughout the process. Known for his chill demeanor, Larry Bird has learned over the years how to share his space with his invertebrate siblings. He even seems to enjoy watching our staff at work! One zookeeper shared that she could hear him singing while she was inside Spider Zone... perhaps serenading the spiders? Visit Butterfly Pavilion this October to walk among free-roaming spiders in Spider Zone and say hi to Larry, who seems to enjoy the experience just as much as our guests do!
