What happens when art and science meet? For Frederick Mindrup, a studio art and biology major, it looks like using both to ask bigger questions about women’s healthcare. Frederick’s project, The Artist’s Proof: A Conversation on the State of Women’s Healthcare, uses visual art to explore the history and shortcomings of gynecology and obstetrics. His goal is to make what he’s learning something more people can see, experience and understand. The work has also changed the way he thinks about progress. “My perspective on human innovation has greatly evolved,” Frederick said, as his research has pushed him to look more closely at how much some parts of life have advanced while aspects of women’s healthcare have changed far less. For Frederick, learning beyond the classroom means bringing two very different interests together and seeing where they can take him. 💙 #Creighton #UndergraduateResearch #StudentResearch #StudioArt #CollegeExperience
