Emotional photography of cats who have accompanied soldiers through the generations of war. 🐈 During the first world war, they lived in trenches and aboard ships, catching mice and rats and becoming mascots to the people around them. The value went beyond pest control. The soldiers adopted strays, cared for kittens and found comfort in their company. ❤️‍🩹 Far from home, a cat offered something familiar in an otherwise unfamiliar place. That bond has continued through wars ever since. #cats #catlife #catsofinstagram #cat #catlover
