Did you know Selena’s first-ever recorded song “Oh Mamá”?
The Chicana icon’s first hit was released as a promotional single for Selena y Los Dinos’ second album “The New Girl in Town” in 1985. “Oh Mamá” landed the group a guest spot on “The Johnny Canales Show,” marking Selena’s first TV appearance and performance.
“Oh Mamá” was Selena’s first recorded song according to a 1995 interview with Don Francisco on “Sábado Gigante,” but it wasn’t the first song she released. Selena y Los Dinos’ first album, “Selena y Los Dinos,” was released in 1984 and featured songs like “Ya Se Va,” “Se Acabó Aquel Amor,” and “Lo Tanto Que Te Quiero.”
