“Throughout quarantine I’ve done a multitude of songs with my Pops, who is a gospel artist, we’ve been working fervently when the inspiration is there. When not doing that, I’ve been solely focused on trying to identify what my identity in music is in terms of creating. Which, for a lack of better words, has been an uphill battle. I’ve created whole songs, beats, hooks, the whole list, and deleted them a week later, not feeling as if it was the best version of what I could be in this given moment or even time. And I’m very thankful to have this abundance of time, to do an in-depth self-reflection in my creative mirror. Taking a look at what I’ve been able to do at this point in my life in those terms, I’ve started to have a better understanding of giving myself time to become myself creatively because as I said earlier, it’s only ever going to be an uphill battle.
