October on the Cilento coast is a quiet kind of perfect. The mornings start with a chill that sends us looking for a sweater and a cappuccino at the bar (that’s coffee shop in Italy), where the locals have already claimed the best tables. By late morning, the sun burns through, the Tyrrhenian Sea turns that impossible shade of blue, and the sweater ends up draped over the back of a chair. The summer crowds have gone home, so the beaches, villages, and cliffside roads feel like they belong to the people who live here again. When the afternoon light becomes golden, a small glass of amaro seems like the only sensible way to end the day. If you have ever wondered when to visit southern Italy, this is my answer. #Cilento #TyrrhenianSea #ItalyInOctober #Gillfishing #SouthernItaly Dena Witt Joe Nav
