Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a ₹4,900 crore stretch of Chennai Metro Phase 2 alongside Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on October 11. The 15-km Poonamallee Bypass–Vadapalani stretch features 11 elevated stations and a 3.7-km double-decker structure. Following the inauguration, PM Modi and CM Vijay took a ride on the newly inaugurated Metro corridor.
