Why I’m not the “right Asian” 😅↓
I was adopted and raised in upstate NY in a 85-89% white district. Although I’m asian, I’m considered not “asian enough” because I don’t follow cultural or other norms. This is felt by so many in the asian community and very visible to us who are living outside our community “standards”.
I’m not the “right” asian - I am:
- Mixed, tan, Korean and Filipina 🇰🇷🇵🇭
- I’m curvy and train regularly
- I only speak english
- My friends are majority black and brown
- I’m an entrepreneur in sports, entertainment & media (tech coming soon 😜)
Although we are not the “asian” that is stereotyped in America and even accepted by our own communities, I love creating and growing my own group🙏🏼
