One of the things I loved most about making #Animals was getting to interrogate the complexities of marriage. Mark and Abby’s marriage in particular. The masks they wear, the bargains they make, the secrets they keep from each other and from themselves! The film asks: what happens when a crisis forces all of it into the light? Exploring all of that with Ben was a gift. Since he’s not on social, I can safely say this here and pray that no one shows it to him 🤣 I’ve admired Ben as a filmmaker for a very long time, but getting to be directed by him AND act opposite him was a transformative experience. It changed me as an artist. As an actor, his performance is fearless and raw. As a director, he created an environment that invited EVERYONE to contribute at their highest level - be vulnerable, take big swings, ask the scary questions, and really dig in.
