I make drawings with a typewriter ⌨️ reviving a forgotten art form that dates back centuries. For this portrait of Shakespeare, I’ve used the oldest typewriter in my collection, an 1897 Oliver No. 2, spending a week typing every detail by hand. Hidden throughout the artwork are typed messages about Shakespeare’s life and work as a playwright. Every detail, from the shading to the finest lines, has been created entirely with a typewriter, one letter at a time.
