Jeff Koons’s major ‘Made in Heaven’ sculpture ‘Bob-Tail’ will star in The New York Sales this fall, marking the first time an edition of this pivotal work has appeared at auction. See it this week at #SothebysLondon until 14 October.
Made in 1991, ‘Bob-Tail’ marks an early moment in Koons’s fascination with dogs as emblems of devotion. This sculpture speaks to a deeply personal yet universal experience: the bonds of affection, loyalty, and companionship that define our relationships with beloved pets. Here, one of Koons’s most recognizable motifs finds one of its most impactful expressions.
After 30 years in private hands, this dog is now looking for a new best friend. ‘Bob-Tail’ will make its auction debut in The Now & Conte...
