For the 100th anniversary of Fritz Lang’s groundbreaking film “Metropolis”, the Retrospective of the 77th Berlin International Film Festival will be dedicated to cinematic visions of the future and of rebellion. 🤖 Titled “Rage Against the Machine” and moving between post-apocalyptic futures, cyberpunk worlds, and political allegories, the programme explores questions of freedom, identity, power, and technology. It invites us to consider issues that feel more urgent than ever: How do authoritarianism and surveillance operate? Who is really in control of technology? And how can people resist? The programme, curated by the Deutsche Kinemathek, showcases works by Paul Verhoeven, Rintaro, Helma Sanders-Brahms, Ngozi Onwurah, and Muscha, among others. The full line-up will be announced in December. 🔗👉 Read more on next year’s Retrospective, along with a related exhibition, panel discussions, and networking events by the Deutsche Kinemathek via the link in bio. #Berlinale #Berlinale20...
