'faces' by mac miller was formally released 5 years ago today 🕊️💿 mac made 'faces' at a very pivotal time in his life, and it was recorded entirely in a studio at his house called either 'the red room' or 'the sanctuary' which is shown in slide 4 it was also one of his rare fully independent releases because he was in between labels at the time, and while the project was originally made on may 11th in 2014, it was not put on to major streaming platforms until 2021 on this day 'balloonerism' was notably made around the same time and at the same studio, and the art work for 'faces' was made by miller mccormick — mac's brother this is easily one of my favorite projects by mac for a number of reasons, so i had to shine a light on it to celebrate 5 years of its true streaming release + over 12 years of its existence 🫂 #macmiller #faces
