At 5:32 a.m., Superintendent Jeanice Swift announced that Ann Arbor Public Schools would have their second snow day on Thursday, Jan. 26. According to clickondetroit, Ann Arbor received 7.8 inches of snow on Jan 25. The snow lasted until 8 p.m. yesterday.
“The closure decision is based on ensuring the safety of our AAPS students and staff,” Swift wrote in the announcement. “After driving the roads across the AAPS overnight to assess, icy and snowy conditions continue at this time on many neighborhood and secondary roads in the area following yesterday’s winter storm.”
All school buildings are closed and all after-school activities are canceled.
